OUR NEW PROJECT:
Patients’ Rights in a Nutshell
For a number of years we have offered to contribute to developing a brief guide for patients that would help them understand their rights and educate them about various important concepts concerning those rights.
OUR DRAFT OF THE ACT ON PATIENTS’ RIGHTS
In December 2004 the Act on the Protection of Patients’ Rights entered into force in Croatia. However, this law lacks the basic elements for protection of patients’ rights based on partner relations.
On many occasions we have pointed out the shortcomings of this law and the inappropriate definitions contained in the Draft Act on the Protection of Patients’ Rights. For this reason, the Draft Act on the Rights, Obligations and Liabilities of Patients is still on our website, and any comments or suggestions are most welcome.
THE INDEPENDENT PATIENTS’ RIGHTS REPRESENTATIVES
The main role and task of independent patients’ rights representatives is
TO HELP PATIENTS ACHIEVE AN EQUAL STANDING IN THE HEALTH-CARE SYSTEM
